6 workshops to explore the industry
For this edition, 16 students from 3rd grade classes were able to discover the Lycée Pablo Neruda and all the activities on offer. Divided into groups of 2 or 3, they went through 6 themed workshops.
To encourage exchanges, the middle school students were accompanied by BTS Environnement Nucléaire and BTS Électrotechnique students. The high school students were able to share their know-how and passion, making the technical manipulations accessible and concrete.
The day was also made possible by the participation of several representatives from companies in the nuclear sector, including Socotec.
Beforehand, in December 2025, the 3rd grade group had been able to discover the Paluel nuclear power plant training center, where they were able to take part in demonstration workshops and put their knowledge into practice.
The approach, carried out jointly between the academy, high school, college and companies, thus enables concrete discovery of the sector, its specific features and its training courses.
Teachers' opinions: a privileged moment
For the educational team, the outcome was extremely positive. The teachers present emphasized the quality of the exchanges on this day, dedicated to the diversity of career paths and trades. Escape games, the discovery of secure packaging in a power plant, radioactivity measurements, industrial assembly... all the activities on offer enabled the schoolchildren to discover professions in concrete terms, some of them unsuspected.
Nuclear power: a promising sector for young talent
This day, which placed students at the heart of real-life situations, confirms the importance of discovering the nuclear industry. Between energy and technological challenges and major construction sites in Normandy, nuclear professions are recruiting.
The Atomeday at Lycée Pablo Neruda undoubtedly sparked a few vocations among future technicians and engineers!
